Staff Profiles

Neil Architecture is a multi-skilled practice bringing together Cameron Neil former founding director of award winning practice Neil+Idle Architects (1998-2005), and David Neil former director of David Neil Architects (1999-2005) a highly successful residential practice responsible for highly detailed and crafted buildings.

Cameron’s experience brings to the table, exposure and experience in a number of areas, including master planning/urban design, and experience in building typologies such as commercial office developments, multi residential, apartments/townhouses, gymnasiums, restaurant/hospitality, andVeterinary hospitals.
David’s experience brings to the partnership a highly developed understanding of planning and detailing having formerly worked closely as John Wardle’s head designer 1992-1998 in the formative years of this renowned practice.

Key personnel

Neil Architecture is a growing office based in the architectural product precinct of Richmond. Our team is made up of two directors, five project architects and four graduate architectural support staff.

Stuart Holmes
Stuart is a registered architect who had previously worked at Neil+Idle Architects having joined in 2002 and has continued with Neil Architecture. He is a meticulous and highly skilled design architect with over ten years experience boasting a strong grasp of medium size commercial projects. Stuart has earned respect from builders and consultants alike for a “no stone left unturned” approach resulting in successful delivery of design intent.
Brenton Stone
Brent had also worked for Neil+Idle Architects and joined the practice in 1999. He is a skilled all rounder with a passion for exactness and understanding. Brent has strong construction knowledge with a highly developed understanding of materials and assembly. He has taken the lead in the office in ESD and pro-actively imparts enthusiasm and consciousness to personnel and projects alike. Brent has additionally worked in the capacity of construction manager for inhouse boutique multi-residential developments, where he has gained invaluable appreciation for project delivery, and a real understanding of the translation of design intent to built form.
Huyen Bui
Huyen started at the inception of Neil Architecture in 2005, after a 5 year stint at Melbourne’s leading interior architecture practice Maddison Architects. Here she further developed her creative and practical design skills and mastery of materiality on many award winning projects: Bear Brass, Mecca Bar, High Tide, Live Bait, Transport, Taxi, and most recently the Grossi kitchen and SOS. Huyen amongst other things heads up the commercial interiors for neil architecture and imparts a strong product knowledge and enthusiasm for innovation to new projects.
Brett Tuer
Brett is a registered architect with eight years experience in a large variety of practices. In addition to previously working with Neil + Idle Architects, he spent five years with Cowland North Architects and most recently, Maddison Architects. He has been exposed to residential, commercial and institutional projects and especially has a strong grasp of medium sized projects. Brett believes in and enjoys strong contact with the client and builder in the making of a successful project. He takes much satisfaction in being able to guide the development of a project from inception to the finished product.
Tanti Azman, William Phung, Carolinna Lee, Trisha Bui, Edward Cronin
Tanti, Will and Carolinna are all graduate architects.
After graduating in 2005 from University of Melbourne, Tanti worked for Kneeler Design before starting with Neil Architecture.
An RMIT graduate, William previously worked at Lovell Chen Architects for the past three years where he gained particular experience in heritage and institutional architecture.
Carolinna graduated from University of New South Wales in 2007 and brings to the office her experience from working with Sydney heritage specialists, Tropman and Tropman Architects.
Trisha and Edward are currently studying at Deakin University and have gained much work experience working in the office alongside their studies. Edward is in his final year.
They work predominantly in the capacity of documenters and trainee contract administrators. As with our general approach we encourage where possible a strong involvement and understanding of the entire project from inception to delivery, with the key aim progression enthusiasm and job satisfaction.
